Hi everyone,
I am currently in my First year studying History at Exeter but politics and the Conservative Party has for a long time been very important to me. I am a passionate supporter and campaigner for Conservative values and you will always hear me shouting and screaming at the TV when Question Time, PM’s questions or simply the biased BBC news is on! It is this passion that I will channel into making the CF branch here at Exeter what it should be. The Society used to have around 400 members and was the flagship branch of Uni CF’s in the country only a few years ago, it needs to get back there. By the time I pass my position onto someone else I hope the Exeter Uni CF will be well on its way to achieving these kind of membership numbers. Some might say this will be virtually impossible, but I say one should always aim high and with perseverance and hard work you just might get there!
As the general secretary I have to look after all the administrative matters of the society. However, I see my role as more than that, I want the committee to communicate effectively with each other and pull in the same direction in order to achieve our goals; we simply can’t be arguing amongst ourselves about petty things, whilst not dealing with the important things. So I believe that I have to work closely with the Chairman to ensure that the Committee is organised, works efficiently, listens to members and is transparent in its decision making.
If you have any questions or queries regarding any aspect of EUCF’s activities, please feel free to contact me.
Best wishes
Jonathan
