Rob Wilson MP is looking for a summer intern for his busy constituency office in Caversham, Reading.

The ideal candidate will be someone at College or University who is looking for a firm grounding in working for an MP.

Ideally the candidate would commit to a 2 to 3 month internship where a reference will be provided on successful completion. As this is a voluntary position hours can be negotiated around other commitments.

The successful candidate should be available to start on the week commencing the 4th July or earlier if available.

Responsibilities will be varied and include:

  Assisting the team with the day-to-day working of the office such as filing and posting
  correspondence.

  Accompanying constituency staff and the Member of Parliament to meetings.

  Assisting with the preparation of press releases and media briefings.

  Assisting with constituency and policy correspondence.

The successful candidate should have:

  Strong inter-personal and communication skills, both written and oral.
 
  Good organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and to
  meet deadlines.

  The ability to work in a sensitive and confidential manner.
