Daniel Ericsson

Chairman

I am an Economics and Politics student, and deputy chair of the society. I'm a devout follower of American Sports in particular, and have a keen interest of US politics as much as I do British politics, and hope to move over to the States post-university. I also enjoy debating, squash and have somewhat of a passion for cars! I'm keen to cultivate and grow the Conservative movement here at Exeter further - the University has so many students which agree with our views.

Ben Corbridge

Deputy Chairman

I'm outgoing Hampshire lad at heart, but in all my travels and experiences I've never found anywhere that's such a nice mix of environments like Exeter before. I was Chairman of CF New Forest for a year and have worked as a Parliamentary Researcher for Dr Julian Lewis, the Shadow Defence Minister. I'm a big mechanics enthusiast, I love riding out on the country roads surrounding Exeter on a summer's evening, and am currently modifying my Land Rover Discovery to supplement my other hobby of Green Lane-ing (Off Road Driving), where you can find me most weekends out on Dartmoor churning up lovely mud! At home I run a small IT and Technology Company and I also work as a semi-professional DJ, playing regularly in clubs in London, Bournemouth and Southampton, hopefully starting here in the clubs of Exeter in the future. I am also a keen member of the fencing team, thus can be found in the Ram most weekday evenings post training!

Darren Rockett

Treasurer

Hi. I hail from a nice surrey village called Bookham and am a passionate Conservative. However, I am a committed Thatcherite and have yet to be swayed over by Cameron’s razzmatazz. I am politically active in my local constituency, where I have helped to deliver leaflets and canvass. As well as this I have also worked for my local Conservative MP Sir Paul Beresford. My interests outside of politics include travel, walking, history and spending time with my mates trying to sample as many good old real ales as I can. I also like football and support Chelsea.

General Secretary

Simon Horswell

Press Officer

I’m a second year studying Politics, and so far am really enjoying it. I became Press Officer in November 2006 and was lucky enough to be re-elected twice since. Coming to Exeter has been the first time that I’ve been involved with the Conservative Party either at a national or local level. Nonetheless, I’ve been a keen supporter of the party for some time; I think now is an exciting time for the Conservatives, so I just had to get involved! I applied for Press Officer because I’m determined to raise the profile of the society. We are already one of the biggest and most successful CF branches in the country and I want to ensure it stays like this! I’m originally from near Southampton, and in my spare time I enjoy swimming, sailing, music and going out.

Tarasyn Whitehead-Patey

Social Secretary

I live in a quiet hamlet near Marlborough, which is in the beautiful county of Wiltshire. I have always been a country girl, and adore putting on my wellies and going for long family walks in the clean country air. In saying that, there is only so much enjoyment the countryside can provide for a young female, and so I often head for the buzz of London with friends to party in our fabulous capital. I have travelled widely, one my favourite places being Cuba. I am also quite the extra curricular girl and attend debating society, and have great fun being part of the ladies basketball team. Politics is my passion, and I am a Tory through and through. As my role as social secretary I want to further what is already an incredible CF. The Conservatives are heading towards triumph and the Exeter CF is going to be at the heart of it….
